Why would someone recite Sutra?
In many Sutra, the Buddha explains specific benefits from reciting different Sutra. By reciting these texts and putting the sacred words of the Buddha in our mouths, we are able to access these blessings.
Why wouldn’t I just recite these myself?
Not only can you, I hope you do! Every Sutra I offer has a link to a reputable translation I encourage you to practice with. This service is intended for two situations:
1. There are plenty of situations where you might want to recite a large number of repetitions. In this case, it’s important to do them either in one sitting or over consecutive days. This can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule.
2. While anyone can recite Sutra for themselves, the teachings I’ve received are that in order to recite them for others you need to have taken refuge.
How do I request recitations?
To request your Sutra recitation, please fill out the form here.
When filling out the form, I’ll ask you for a few pieces of information:
- Your name
- Your email
- The name of the person I’m reciting for (you can leave this blank if it’s yourself)
- The birthday of the person I’m reciting for. This is to calculate their excellent day and best time my recitations.
- The Sutra you are requesting. Check the boxes next to the Sutra you would like me to recite.
- In the Message field please enter any important dates for your request, or if you are interested in multiple recitations, please indicate so here.
  Example:
  If Alice requested seven recitations of the Victory Banner Sutra I would ultimately recite the Sutra twenty-one times, as those recitations are bundled into threes.
  For those wishing to request their age in recitations, I will round down to the nearest number.
What happens next?
I will review your request and return an invoice to you with payment information through Venmo. Once your payment is received, I will calculate the next excellent day for the person being recited for and begin working on your request. I will also confirm when I have completed your request.
What kind of important dates should I include?
If you’re having the Sutra recited for something specific, like a job interview or major undertaking, I’d love to make sure that at least the conclusion of the work lines up with the big day.
